Did you know that for the first time ever you can walk into the Verizon Center Team Store on Wednesday before the Caps meet the Buffalo Sabres and walk out with a game-worn jersey from your favorite player?
The Capitals and MeiGray Group, the team’s official game-worn jersey partner who runs the Washington Capitals-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program, will be offering a special set of home red jerseys the Caps wore in our 6-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, Nov. 11 at Verizon Center.
Only 27 game-worn jerseys will be available for sale in the Team Store, one per player, available on a first-come, first served basis beginning Wednesday when the Team Store opens at 5pm.
Among the 27 jerseys will be:
- The jersey worn by Alexander Semin when he scored three third-period goals, including the game-winning goal, and added two assists, a 5-point game!
- The jersey worn by Alex Ovechkin when he notched a goal and two assists, including his 550th NHL point!
- One jersey for each of the other 18 Capitals in the lineup.
- One game-issued jersey for seven other Caps on the roster, who did not play.
Every game-worn jersey was individually serial-numbered before it was worn, and authenticated after it was worn by MeiGray and the Caps. Each jersey will come with a Washington Capitals-MeiGray Group Letter of Authenticity.
