Capitals Defenseman Brian Pothier To Take Part In “Strike Childhood Obesity”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 15, 2007 – Washington Capitals defenseman Brian Pothier will be one of many local professional athletes taking part in the Washington Mystics’ “Strike Childhood Obesity,” held on Wednesday, May 16, from 6:30-9 p.m. at Lucky Strike Lanes inside Gallery Place in downtown Washington, D.C. The event, which also features Washington Mystics players and coaches, the Baltimore Ravens’ Daniel Wilcox and Bart Scott, the Washington Redskins’ Renaldo Wynn and SportsTalk 980’s Brian Mitchell, is a fundraiser benefiting the Saint Louis University’s Obesity Prevention Center. The center’s obesity intervention program targets elementary schools in the D.C. area and provides them with healthy food, drinks and physical activity.
