Capitals Assign Tyler Sloan to Hershey for Conditioning Stint

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have assigned defenseman Tyler Sloan to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL) on a conditioning stint, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Sloan, 29, has recorded one goal, five assists and six penalty minutes in 19 games with the Capitals this season. In 85 career NHL games, Sloan, who is in his 11th professional season and third NHL campaign, has registered 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) and 42 penalty minutes.

Sloan was signed by the Capitals as a free agent on July 2, 2008 and made his NHL debut on Oct. 21, 2008, in his hometown of Calgary.
