Capitals Assign Mike Green and Jakub Klepis to Hershey

Washington, D.C. – March 10, 2006 – The Washington Capitals have assigned defenseman Mike Green and forward Jakub Klepis to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced.
Green has played in 11 games since his most recent recall, scoring his first NHL goal Feb. 3 against Toronto. He also recorded assists in back-to-back games March 4 at Atlanta and March 6 against the New York Islanders. This season Green has played in 22 games in two recall stints for the Capitals, notching three points and 18 penalty minutes. In 43 games with Hershey this season he has five goals and 24 assists and 69 penalty minutes. His 29 points rank second among rookie defensemen in the AHL.
Klepis has four points in 19 games with the Capitals this season, recording his first goal in his NHL debut and recording assists in three other games. He has 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points in 45 games for Hershey this season.
