Capitals Assign Kris Beech to Hershey

Washington, D.C. – April 11, 2006 – The Washington Capitals have assigned center Kris Beech to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced.


Beech, 24, has played 10 games in the NHL this season with Washington and Nashville, recording one goal and two assists. He has averaged more than a point per game in the AHL, leading all Hershey players with 61 points (24 goals, 37 assists) in 56 games. He had 11 points (six goals, five assists) in the eight games in Hershey prior to his most recent recall on April 5. A 6’2”, 208-pound native of Salmon Arm, B.C., Beech was originally drafted by the Capitals in the first round of the 1999 Entry Draft (seventh overall) and reacquired on March 9 from Nashville.
