Capitals Assign Frederic Cassivi to Hershey

Washington, D.C. - November 16, 2005 - The Washington Capitals have assigned goaltender Frederic Cassivi to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced.



Recalled from Hershey on Nov. 11, Cassivi played just one game for the Capitals, facing 30 shots that night from the New Jersey Devils but not able to fend off a 4-3 loss. The 6'4", 220-pound native of Sorel, Quebec, has played 10 games for Herhsey this season, posting a 5-3-2 record with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage. Signed by the Capitals as a free agent on Aug. 11, 2005, Cassivi has played nine NHL games in his 11-year professional career, all but one with Atlanta (3-4-0, 3.91 GAA, .894 save percentage).
