Capitals Assign Colin Forbes, Boyd Gordon and Mike Green to Hershey

Washington, D.C. – February 2, 2006 – The Washington Capitals have assigned forwards Colin Forbes and Boyd Gordon and defenseman Mike Green to Hershey of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Green, 20, has played 12 games for the Capitals this season. He leads all rookie defensemen in the AHL with 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) in 38 games with Hershey this season.
Gordon, 22, has played 22 games this season for the Capitals and is second among NHL forwards with an average of 5:04 of penalty killing ice time per game. With Hershey this season, Gordon has 10 goals and 12 assists (22 points) through 31 games and a +5 rating.
Forbes, 29, has appeared in nine games for the Capitals during two recall stints. He has played seven games with Hershey this season, posting five goals and two assists, and has 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) in 41 AHL games this season with Hershey and Lowell.
