Capitals Assign Boyd Gordon and Colin Forbes to Hershey

Washington, D.C. – January 27, 2006 – The Washington Capitals have assigned forwards Boyd Gordon and Colin Forbes to Hershey of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.


Gordon, 22, has played 21 games this season for the Capitals and leads all NHL forwards with 5:03 of penalty killing ice time per game. With Hershey this season, Gordon has nine goals and 10 assists (19 points) through 29 games and a +5 rating.

Forbes, 29, has appeared in seven games for the Capitals during two recall stints. He has played five games with Hershey this season, posting two goals and one assist, and has 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) in 39 AHL games this season with Hershey and Lowell.
