Capitals Announce 2006 Preseason Schedule

Team to Play Three Games at Verizon Center, One in Hershey

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Capitals today announced their 2006 preseason schedule, featuring six games against five opponents, including three home games at Verizon Center and one at Giant Center in Hershey, Pa.

The Capitals open their preseason schedule with three games in five days beginning at home on Sept. 20 at Verizon Center against Tampa Bay at 7 p.m.  The Capitals will play their first of two road games on Sept. 22 when they travel to Pittsburgh for a 7 p.m. face off at Mellon Arena.  On Sept. 24 the Capitals will play a home game against the New Jersey Devils at Giant Center in Hershey, Pa., home of the Hershey Bears, Washington’s American Hockey League affiliate.

The Capitals open a back-to-back series and wind up their preseason road schedule in Philadelphia on Sept. 26 at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia at 7 p.m.   The two teams then face off in Washington on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. The Capitals preseason schedule concludes against Carolina on Oct. 1 at Verizon Center at 1 p.m.
