Capitals Renew ECHL Affiliation with South Carolina Stingrays
WASHINGTON, D.C. August 25 The Washington Capitals have renewed their affiliation agreement with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL for the 2005-06 season, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
“We really enjoyed the first year of our relationship with the Stingrays and felt that it was mutually beneficial,” McPhee said. “We’ve extended the affiliation agreement, and I hope that we can work together for a long time.”
South Carolina finished 38-22-12 last season in the first year of its affiliation with Washington. The Stingrays are Washington’s second minor-league affiliate; the Capitals signed an affiliation agreement with the Hershey Bears of the AHL on April 22.
