5% Rebate Among Capitals Season Ticket Holder Rewards
WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 25, 2005 – Washington Capitals season-ticket holders have one week remaining to take advantage of a 5% rebate on their ticket plan renewal. The rebate is one part of an aggressive effort to reward plan holders who have remained faithful to team.
In addition to the rebate, full-season plan holders will receive one replica CCM jersey per account and two complimentary tickets to the home opener on Oct. 5, based on availability. An enhanced plan holder benefit structure based upon years of membership will accompany these rewards.
As noted in Ted Leonsis’ “Owner’s Corner” on the Capitals website, the rebate will be applied to season-ticket and partial plans renewed or purchased by Sept. 1. For those accounts that are already paid in full or are renewing for the 2005-06 season, the rebate will be applied toward the account after the deadline.
“We are very fortunate to have a dedicated, faithful and rabid group of fans,” Leonsis said in his open letter to Caps fans. “I truly appreciate and respect [our plan holders’] continued support and enthusiasm of the Capitals.”
Leonsis also announced that the season-ticket prices as announced before the beginning of the locked out season would remain through the 2006-07 season. Prices were reduced by an average of 11%, back to 2001-02 levels. This “Ice Your Price” plan was originally scheduled to last only until the end of the upcoming season.
“Our most loyal fans are our season-ticket holders,” chief marketing officer Kevin Morgan said. “They are the heart and soul of our organization and we want them to know how much we truly appreciate their unwavering dedication to this team.  Hopefully this 5% rebate, the 11% rollback and the ‘Ice Your Price’ plan will help show our gratitude.”
Guest Services representatives are currently contacting new and renewed season-ticket holders regarding their account balances. Any questions should be directed to the Caps Guest Services department at 202-266-2350 or via email at
