Young Stars preview: Canucks vs. Flames

by Tyson Giuriato / Vancouver Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks look to close out the 2014 Young Stars Classic on a winning note as they take on the Calgary Flames tonight in Penticton, BC.

The game can be streamed live on starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Canucks have yet to lose in regulation, dropping their first two games of the tournament in overtime, including an exciting 5-4 loss to the Winnipeg Jets Sunday afternoon.

Austin Lotz is expected to get the start in goal. The Everett Silvertips netminder made 29 saves on Friday night against the Edmonton Oilers.

Look for defencemen Jeramie Blaine and Evan McEneny to slot back into the lineup after sitting out Sunday.

Free agent invitee Curtis Valk will look to add to his tournament leading three goals, while teammate Hunter Shinkaruk also sits in a tie for second place in the tournament scoring race with three points (2-1-3).

The Flames, who sit at 1-1-0 through two games, have gotten strong play out of 2014 Hobey Baker winner Johnny Gaudreau along with 2014 first-rounder, Sam Bennett. Calgary also has some size in their lineup, led by Keegan Kanzig and Hunter Smith, who are both listed at 6-foot-7.
