Young Stars Blog - Day 4

by Tyson Giuriato / Vancouver Canucks

12:18 p.m. -- Welcome back to Penticton for Day 4 of the 2013 Young Stars Classic. We are under two hours away from puck drop between the Canucks and the Oilers! Lines for this afternoon:

Myron - Gaunce - Jensen

Hall - Cassels - Mallet

Mychan - Friesen - Hope

Franson - Maillet - Pacan

McEneny - Andersson
Cederholm - Corrado
Guimond - Johnston

2:41 p.m. -- Scoreless after 20 minutes between the Canucks and Oilers. Both teams had their share of chances with a combined 25 shots in the period. Alexandre Mallet took on Oilers forward Kale Kessy in a short scrap with less than two minutes left in the period.

The line of Myron, Gaunce and Jensen has been very good and invitee Jesse Mychan has been noticably physical so far.

3:35 p.m. -- Well that was exciting! After falling behind 2-0 just 5:04 into the period, the Canucks battled back and evened this game at two heading into the third period. Philippe Maillet got the Canucks on the board after a give-and-go with Brendan Gaunce and then Cole Cassels jammed home a loose puck just 59 seconds later. Invitee Kyle Hope got his arm loose and landed some serious bombs on Oilers forward Greg Chase in a lengthy scrap that appeared to get the Canucks going. Shots are 26-21 Canucks through two periods.

5:23p.m. -- The Canucks completed their comeback with 5 straight goals knocking off the Oilers 5-2. Click here for a full recap.
