WING2

There was lots to like about Vancouver's effort in Game 2 Tuesday night, on top of the 5-2 final score.

The Canucks evened their Western Conference Semi-Final series with the Vegas Golden Knights 1-1 thanks to a pair of goals from Bo Horvat, a goal and two helpers from Elias Pettersson and a goal and two assists from Tyler Toffoli.
Vancouver's dominant Game 2 effort was in fact recording breaking on many fronts. For starters, Vancouver's 40 blocked shots is a single-game franchise record in the playoffs. No pain, no gain.

WALK WITH ELIAS

Pettersson's three points, highlighted by the jaw-dropping, eventual game-winning goal below, gave him the most points through 12 games in Canucks franchise history, with 16.

VAN@VGK, Gm2: Pettersson scores on incredible deke

When Pettersson picked up his second assist of the night midway through the 1st period, he became the fifth player age 21 or younger to record at least six multi-point games in their first 12 career playoff games, joining Wayne Gretzky (7), Sidney Crosby (7), Don Maloney (6) & Ken Linseman (6). Petey's six multi-point games leads the NHL this post-season.

VAN@VGK, Gm2: Toffoli, Pettersson take early lead

Canucks teammates recording three points each in a game doesn't happen often, in fact Toffoli and Pettersson became just the third pair of Vancouver teammates to do it. Christian Ehrhoff/Ryan Kesler/Henrik Sedin did it in 2011, while Geoff Courtnall and Gerald Diduck achieved it in 1993.

HUGHES NIGHT

Quinn Hughes picked up a helper on the first goal of the game last night giving him 10 assists in 12 playoff games, which makes him just the second defenceman in NHL history under the age of 21 to hit that mark in so few games. Al MacInnis sits atop the list with 12 assists in his first 11 playoffs games played.

Hughes also tied the Canucks franchise record for most points by a rookie in the postseason with 11. He'll surely take over ownership of that record this week.

BO CANUCKS BO

It was the third time this post-season that Horvat has recorded two goals, making him the third Canucks player in team history to achieve that feat during a playoff run, behind Cliff Ronning's four multi-goal games in 1992 and Pavel Bure's five two-goal outings in 1994.

VAN@VGK, Gm2: Horvat strikes in front for second

Horvat now leads the playoffs with eight goals, and he's eighth on the list for most goals in a postseason in Canucks franchise history.
