Vancouver, BC - The National Hockey League announced today that Vancouver Canucks defenceman Quinn Hughes has been added to Team Pacific in the 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Game. Hughes earned the roster spot through the "Last Men In" online voting program.

Hughes, 20, becomes the 11th Canucks defenceman to be named to an All-Star Game roster, and first since Alex Edler in 2012. The other Canucks defencemen named to the All-Star Game include: Ed Jovanovski (2003, 2002 and 2001), Mattias Ohlund (1999), Paul Reinhart (1989), Harold Snepsts (1982 and 1977), Kevin McCarthy (1981), Lars Lindgren (1980), Tracy Pratt (1975), Jocelyn Guevremont (1974) and Dale Tallon (1972 and 1971).
Hughes ranks third among rookies in scoring with 31 points (4-27-31) in 44 games in 2019.20. He also leads Canucks defencemen in scoring, power play points (3-13-16) and ranks third among Canucks blueliners in average time on ice per game (21:22).

The 2020 NHL All-Star Weekend starts Friday, January 24 at 6 p.m. PT (SN, CBC) with the NHL All-Star Skills competition followed by the Honda All-Star Game on Saturday, January 25 at 5 p.m. PT (SN, CBC).
