1819-CON-7314 - Vote Hughes_Media Wall

Another year, another Hobey Baker nominated Canucks prospect. Hopefully.

Last season Adam Gaudette was awarded the Hobey Baker, an annual honour bestowed upon the top NCAA men's hockey player. The NCAA recently released their initial list of nominees for the 2018-19 season, with more than 80 players eligible to finish in the top 10. From there, a final three will be chosen.
Quinn Hughes, drafted seventh overall by the Canucks in 2018, needs your help to make his way to the top 10, and hopefully the final three. Voting is now open at

, running until March 10th.
Why vote Hughes?
The 19-year-old sophomore defenceman, who has three goals and 22 assists in 19 games with the Big Ten Conference's University of Michigan this season, has made noticeable strides in his development, according to Ryan Biech, a freelance writer tracking Canucks prospects.
"Hughes has clearly been holding onto the puck more in the offensive zone, looking for lanes to open up or trying to drag defenders out of position to create space for himself and his teammates," said Biech.
"There is still half of an NCAA season to go, but the scoring rates that Hughes has been able to put up this season has been very impressive. Hughes had been riding a point streak recently, but that is a reflection of the type of impact he is making on a nightly basis. Even if he is having an off game, he still finds a way to get his name on the score sheet."
