When Elias Pettersson spoke to the media after Vancouver's 6-1 win Sunday in St. Louis, he was asked if he surprised himself with another five-point performance, his second in only 26 career NHL games.

"I'm just trying to create chances and points will come if you play good, that's all I'm thinking of," he responded.
Pettersson is indeed creating chances and boy oh boy are the points coming.
The 20-year-old leads the Canucks and all rookies in scoring with 15 goals and 15 assists; Pettersson's 30 points is 11 more than Ottawa's Colin White, who has 19 points in four more games played. On Monday Pettersson was named the NHL's First Star for his two goal, six assists in three games effort this past week.

VAN@STL: Pettersson scores, earns four assists in win

Pettersson's second career five-point outing made him the second rookie in Canucks franchise history to post multiple outings of at least four points, joining Brock Boeser.
Pettersson also became just the second rookie in NHL history to record multiple five-point outings before the end of December, and the fifth rookie with two in a season ever.
Pettersson also set a Canucks franchise record for fewest appearances to record his first 30 career points.
Dizzying.

Not to be forgotten from Sunday's win is Boeser, who sniped his second career hat trick. The 21-year-old forward now has five goals in three career games against the Blues and has six points over his last five games. Boeser leads the Canucks with 38 goals and 72 points since the start of the 2017-18 season.

VAN@STL: Boeser records his second career hat trick

There aren't official NHL stats concerning hair, but Boeser would be leading that category as well, as he demonstrated Sunday.

Bo Horvat also found the back of the net against the Blues, earning his 14th goal of the season. He's up to 28 points this year and well on pace to set new career highs in every stat you can think of.

VAN@STL: Horvat bangs in rebound to extend lead

Since entering the NHL in 2014-15, Horvat has recorded 85 goals and 189 points in 327 games. The only player to score more goals over that stretch was Daniel Sedin with 86 goals, and 236 points.
One last impressive stat, in case you were still questioning whether the future is bright for the Canucks or not: In total, 60 per cent of Vancouver's goals (57 of 95) this year have been scored by a player age 23 or younger: Pettersson (15), Horvat (14), Virtanen (9), Boeser (9), Goldobin (5), Motte (4) and Gaudette (1).
