Vancouver, B.C. -Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has signed centre Jay Beagle to a four-year deal with an AAV of $3.0M.

"Jay is a detailed player with championship experience, who can handle a big defensive workload," said Benning. "He's grown and developed his game with a core group of players and won at every level of pro hockey. We're excited to add a player with his calibre of character and experience to our team."
Beagle, 32, spent the 2017.18 season with the Washington Capitals, collecting 22 points (7-15-22) in 79 games. He ranked fourth in the League for the best face-off winning percentage (58.5%) in the regular season.
The Calgary, Alberta native added eight points (2-6-8) in 23 playoff games en route to a Stanley Cup Championship. Beagle became the first player to win the Kelly Cup (ECHL championship), the Calder Cup (AHL Championship) and the Stanley Cup (NHL Championship).
Over the course of his 10-year NHL career, the 6'3", 218-pound centre has posted 116 points (51-65-116) and 159 penalty minutes in 471 games, all with Washington. He has also seen action in 85 NHL playoff games, tallying 19 points (8-11-19) and 36 penalty minutes.
