by Canucks Media Relations @Canucks / Vancouver Canucks
The NHL Centennial Fan Arena, a touring tribute to a century of hockey thrills, will come to Coquitlam Centre October 21 and 22 as part of its 31 city tour around North America. The interactive fan experience honours extraordinary players, teams, and unforgettable moments with an innovative museum, original video content, a first-of-its-kind virtual reality game, and the most revered trophy in sports - the Stanley Cup.
WHAT: NHL Centennial Fan Arena
WHEN: October 21 and 22
TIME: 11am-6pm
WHERE: Coquitlam Centre
2929 Barnet Hwy, Coquitlam, BC
Fans can come and see the interactive display as it makes it's only stop in British Columbia at Coquitlam Centre on Oct. 21 and 22 from 11am to 6pm. A pop-up ball hockey rink will accompany the display where young players can have their chance to shine. Fans also will have the opportunity to see the Stanley Cup with Canucks Alumnus on hand at the event.
The NHL® Centennial Fan Arena features a 53-foot museum truck with an innovative interior, featuring more than 1,000 square feet of interactive digital displays, original video content, historical memorabilia and unique photo moments. A second 53-foot trailer with a giant video screen will feature team highlights, all-access programming, as well as a pop-out stage for special appearances. In addition, clear the ice Zamboni® VR experience will be on hand for fans to compete against one another in this never-before-seen VR experience.
The NHL Centennial Fan Arena also will leave a legacy in BC through two important initiatives: Recycle the Game and Hockey is for Everyone. A special net will be on-site for fans to donate gently used hockey equipment. The equipment will be up-cycled back into the community, continuing the League-wide commitment to improve hockey's environmental footprint while supporting youth hockey. As part of Hockey Is For Everyone™, the League is making a $5,000 grant to the local community. In partnership with the Canucks, this grant will be invested into the community to Canadian Blind Hockey.
