Hey guys,
Brock here. It's Friday morning and I'm at the airport in Vancouver awaiting takeoff to Tampa Bay for the NHL All-Star Game! It's 6 am right now, meaning I didn't get much sleep last night; it's tough to crash right away after a game. That's why I'm writing this now because as soon as I get on the plane, I'll be lights out, good night, wake me in Tampa.

I've had a few people in the airport congratulate me and wish me luck and that's kind of making this trip sink in a bit more. I didn't want to focus on it and look past our games this week. Now that it's here I can honestly say I'm nervous. I'm not too sure what to expect. This is a big stage with the best players in the NHL, so I'm looking to have some fun and meet some of the guys. Those are my main goals this weekend. Scoring a few goals would be nice too!
I don't know many of the guys attending except Auston Matthews and Drew Doughty, I've met him a few times. I'll lean on them a bit until I know what's what. My mom, dad, brother and sister, and some cousins, are coming in for the events, so I'll have a great support system as always. I appreciate the well wishes over social media from you Canucks fans too.
I've been thinking a lot about the skills competition Saturday and participating in the accuracy shooting challenge would be nice. I haven't found out yet what I'm in, so cross your fingers for me. It's funny, there's actually highlights from past all-star games on the TVs in the airport right now and they're showing Daniel Sedin's record setting four-for-four in 7.3 seconds in the accuracy event from 2011. What a sniper. Now that's intimidating. Watch me miss all the targets. What a nightmare.
Walking to my gate just now I ran into Alex Biega, who is heading to California with his family for the break. Some of the guys were heading to Whistler to relax and rejuvenate. I hope everyone, teammates and fans alike, have a great few days away from the rink. Me, I'm pumped I'll be at the rink, and I'll do my best to blog everyday so we can experience all-star 2018 together.
Talk to you soon!
Brock
