Tweet, tweet - July 21, 2016

by Derek Jory / Vancouver Canucks
If you can’t Etem, join’em.

When Emerson Etem joined the Canucks in early January, he confessed that he wasn’t much of a social media guy. He had a Twitter account, but didn’t consider himself active by any means. He said once he warmed up to teammates, fans and Vancouver, he’d fire it up again.

It's lit.

Since we last checked out the Canucks social scene, Etem has tired out his Twitter thumbs reflecting on the lives of Muhammad Ali and Gordie Howe, congratulating the Penguins on a Stanley Cup win, wishing America happy birthday from Saint-Tropez and letting the word in on a little secret.

Etem’s a tweeter. We have that and his slick moves to look forward to this coming season.

Flip over to Brendan Gaunce and it’s clear he’s just like you and I. A few sports retweets, a graduation tweet and props for Game of Thrones.

Speaking of trendy tweets, Jake Virtanen, like many of us, is confused.

Thankfully good guy Ben Hutton is here to help!

Back to Virtanen, who has continued filling the dog days of summer with activities galore.

Same goes for Bo Horvat, who was recently in town and wasted no time visiting some special friends in Vancouver.

Horvat has been visiting friends all over the place actually.

Nice to see a BC boy/Canuck fan out on the field yesterday @canucks @bluejays #Jays #Saunders

And let’s not forget about Gus!

Ryan Miller recently had a birthday and we let the world know sending him well wishes with the cutest photo we could find. He used that same photo to say hello to Ben Hutton.

Hutton responded with a request we’d all like to make: #bringitback

Newcomer Erik Gudbranson has had quite the summer. His travels have taken him to Cape Town, Namibia, Sossusvlei and a lovely place called Vancouver.

Beautiful view on the first leg of our trip out to #VanCity

The honeymoon is over for Nikita Tryamkin – his actual honeymoon ended and he’s now back in the gym and on the ice preparing for next season.

Work out

Tryamkin recently posted an official wedding photo as well, so while the honeymoon is over, he still looks a pretty happy guy.

And with that, we coast into August, the final month of 2016 without Canucks hockey. Enjoy!
