Subban blog Vol. IV

by Jordan Subban / Vancouver Canucks
There’s nothing quite like being at an NHL camp.

We shifted gears earlier this week and we’re now in Whistler for main camp after being in Penticton for Young Stars. From being one of the vets to being a rookie again, I’m having a lot of fun.

The on-ice sessions have been tough, coach Desjardins runs a great practice and you feel good when the 70-minute skate is done. I was nervous to start Friday with this being the first time I’ve skated with pro guys in a year, but that wore off as practice got going.

I’ve been paired with Anton Cederholm so far, but the D pairs get shuffled a lot so I’ve played a bit with different guys. It’s amazing having some of the guys like Chris Higgins and Brad Richardson coming at you, they’re so fast and strong and have incredible shots. I skated with their group last year too.

And now the update everyone is excited for – the latest on my tooth. I got a little bit of a filling in, it’s not fully fixed but at least I can smile again without scaring children, so that’s nice. I’m being a lot more careful with doors at the hotel; I’m working on not texting and walking in general.

I’m off to explore Whister!
