Vancouver, BC – The National Hockey League announced today that Vancouver Canucks forward Radim Vrbata has been named as one of 42 players to participate in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game and Weekend, to be held at Nationwide Arena in Columbus.
The 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Jan. 25 at Nationwide Arena (2 p.m. PST, CBC). The All-Stars will participate in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Saturday, Jan. 24 at Nationwide Arena (4 p.m. PST, CBC).
Vrbata, 33, will be making his first NHL All-Star Game appearance. He has skated in 36 games for Vancouver and leads the team in goals (16) and ranks third in scoring with 29 points (16-13-29). He also leads the club with 7 powerplay goals, 7 multi-point games and 125 shots on goal. Earlier this season, the Mlada Boleslav, Czech native appeared in his 800th career NHL game and he is now only 7 points from 500 in his career.
The 2015 NHL All-Star Player Fantasy Draft presented by DraftKings will be held on Friday, Jan. 23 to divide the All-Stars into two teams. Captains for each team will be announced next week.
