Opening Weekend Update

The Vancouver Canucks announced five things fans can look forward to on Opening Weekend, including the first Budweiser, Mike's Hard Root Beer, Pepsi or bottled water "on the house" at Saturday's game.

New menu items this year includes everything from Lumberjack Sandwiches (4 carved meats on 1 bun) to a Vij's Curry stand to Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. Rogers Arena will also be offering fans seven new types of craft beer.

The Canucks play back-to-back games on Opening Weekend hosting the Calgary Flames at 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 15th and the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, October 16th at 7:00 pm. A limited number of tickets are available for both games. Visit

FIVE THINGS FANS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OPENING WEEKEND:

Arrive early for new opening:Fans are encouraged to arrive early on Saturday and be in their seats by 6:50 pm to enjoy the pre-game ceremonies which includes full player introductions and a new opening video and light show, including 200-ft-wide video projection mapped across the ice.
New food and drink options:Continuing a hospitality tradition of enhancing menu items and offerings at Rogers Arena year-on-year, the Canucks hospitality team will showcase new food and beverage options and innovations for the 2016.17 season. New to the concourse offerings will be fan favourites like, Smoked Meat sandwiches, Jumbo Chicken Wings, Pizza by the slice, Hand Cut Fries and Chicken Tenders, Italian Sausages on a Bun, Perogies, Lumberjack Sandwich (4 carved meats on 1 bun) Steam Bao Buns, Coconut Thai Curry, Vij's Curry stand and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. New Beverages include seven new craft beers, Mike's Hard Root beer, Draft Cider and Vintage Peach Tea.
Giveaways and Jerseys off our back:For the first time, Canucks players will give away their game-worn jerseys to lucky fans on back-to-back nights at the end of both Saturday and Sunday's games. Fans attending either game will also have the chance to win giveaways including a pair of season tickets for the 2016.17 season.
