Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks announced today timing for Open Practice presented by BC Hydro Power Smart, as well as information that will affect the sold out event. The Canucks will have peanut restrictions in effect during the October 3rd Open Practice and the event will also be impacted by changes to traffic patterns around Rogers Arena.
PEANUT RESTRICTED EVENT
In an effort to accommodate our fans with peanut allergies, peanuts in the shell will not be sold during Open Practice.
Fans with a peanut allergy are encouraged to contact the Guest Services hotline at 604.899.7440 prior to attending events at Rogers Arena to advise of their peanut allergy. This information is communicated to the event staff so they can make guests with a peanut allergy as comfortable as possible during Canucks games and other events at Rogers Arena.
For more information on Guest Services programs offered at Rogers Arena, fans can go to www.rogersarena.com. Alternatively, while at Rogers Arena, guests can pick up a Fast Facts Guide from the Guest Service Centres located at sections 104 (Canucks games only), 114 and 310. Any guests attending events at Rogers Arena are encouraged to speak with a member of the event staff if they have any questions regarding peanut allergies or other services offered at Rogers Arena.
*TRAFFIC REROUTED NEAR ROGERS ARENA
On the morning of October 3rd, downtown streets in the proximity of Rogers Arena will be closed intermittently for another event in the downtown area. From 6 am until 2 pm Pacific Blvd from Cambie to Quebec, including the Cambie Bridge off-ramp to Pacific Blvd, will be closed. From 8:45 am until 12:00 pm, nine areas will be affected. Expo Blvd from Abbott to Quebec will be closed. The eastbound lanes of W Pender from Abbott to Keefer will be closed. From Cambie to Main St., the westbound lanes of W 2nd Ave will be closed. Abbott St. from Pacific to W Pender will also be closed northbound only. Carrall St. from Keefer to Pacific Blvd, Keefer St. from Carrall to Quebec, and Quebec St. from W Pender to W 2nd Ave will also be closed. Lastly, the Cambie Bridge will be impacted as the on-ramp from W 2nd Ave and northbound Cambie St from W Broadway to Pacific Blvd will be inaccessible.
The Vancouver Police Department will reopen the listed routes once the event has concluded and it’s deemed safe to reopen local traffic routes.
Fans are encouraged to account for the closures and to either leave home early or look for alternative transportation methods (Stadium/Chinatown Station on the Skytrain route is directly across the street from Rogers Arena) to arrive at Rogers Arena in time to enjoy the concourse activities and Open Practice presented by BC Hydro Power Smart.
