DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(other duties may be assigned as required)

  • Participate in all aspects of the preventative maintenance program for HVAC, refrigeration and other building mechanical equipment
  • Participate in all aspects of installation/maintenance and operation of ice sheet as directed
  • Operation of lighting, HVAC, refrigeration and all related equipment
  • Operate/inspect/adjust HVAC controls and schedules as directed
  • Operate/inspect/adjust refrigeration plant operation, including start-up and shut-down of plant and related equipment
  • Liaise with in-house technical staff, internal/external clients and contract trades people to ensure efficient operation and completion of assigned tasks
  • Assist with inventory controls for all maintenance parts and supplies related to the physical plant and building operation
  • Provide event-related support for all building systems

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Refrigeration Operator Certificate in accordance with the “Power Engineers and Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act”
  • Fourth Class Power Engineers Certificate
  • Minimum of 7-10 years experience in ice maintenance, automated building control systems, computer systems or equipment-related experience
  • Solid team player with a strong customer service focus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff, guests, promoters, clients, corporate partners and supplier contractors
  • Ability to take initiative and work well under minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Superior organizational skills and detail-oriented
