Canucks.com is all over the action and we will be bringing you updates throughout the week.
The Canucks prospects already hit the ice for practice earlier today and have now gone back to the hotel for some rest before a big day tomorrow.
Practice was run by the Utica Comets coaching staff consisting of head coach Travis Green and his assistant’s Nolan Baumgartner and Paul Jerrard. The trio will also be behind the bench for all four games this week. Green hasn’t figured out the lineup for tomorrow night’s game against the San Jose Sharks but did throw out a hint of who will be on the top line.
“We will see some of the young guys,” said Green. “I think Hunter (Shinkarauk) and (Bo) Horvat will play and probably play together.”
Horvat and Shinkaruk practiced on the top line with David Pacan, a 6-foot-4, 220-pounder signed to play with the Comets this year.
Green also said to expect a heavy dose of Joacim Eriksson between the pipes this week.
“We want to get Eriksson in there as much as possible and he will play tomorrow.”
The coaching staff paced the players through a high-paced skate that featured a lot of line rushes and a lot of thunder… literally. It was a little stormy here earlier in the day and the thunder could be heard rumbling through the rink at times.
