Q & A With Josh Green

At 28, Josh Green has just inked a new one-year deal with the Canucks. Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1996, the Camrose, Alberta native split the 2005-2006 season between Vancouver and Winnipeg. He is looking forward to spending more time on the west coast in the coming season.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Camrose, Alberta.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Yup, two younger brothers.

Do you have any pets?

Well, we had a dog growing up, until I was about two years old, and my parents just bought another dog about a year ago, so I kind of missed out on the pet thing.

What was your favourite hockey team growing up? Oilers.

Who was your favourite hockey player growing up?

What was the last CD that you bought?

I haven't bought a CD in a long time, but I guess the last one I bought was Jack Johnson.

What is your favourite TV show?

Uh, that would have to be The Family Guy - yeah, good show.

What is your favourite movie?

Shawshank Redemption.

Who is your favourite movie star?

I don't really have one - I like a bunch of different people. I like Adam Sandler. He's pretty funny.

If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would you choose?

Will Farrell.

What was the best goal you ever scored?

Um, the one that stands out the most would be my first one - first NHL goal.

What was the worst hit you ever took?

I think it goes way back to bantam. I was trying for a wrap-around, and the winger came down from the point and just tattooed me into the boards.

Who is the hardest goalie to score on?

How do you pass the time on bus and plane trips?

Play cards - a bit of poker - fleece guys.

Which Canuck have you learned the most from?

Uh, I'm gonna say Kevin Bieksa - just how to train. I've hung out with him a lot in the last couple of years in Winnipeg and here. He's taught me how to train and work out.
