Comets vs. Monarchs: Game 3

Nicklas Jensen scored the game-winner, while Jacob Markstrom made 32 saves as the Utica Comets prevailed with a 3-2 win in Game 3 of the Calder Cup Final on Wednesday night, cutting their series deficit to 2-1 against the Manchester Monarchs.

Alexandre Grenier and Cal O’Reilly each finished with a goal and assist on the night, as the Comets will now look to even up the series on Friday night.

Game 4 goes Friday night. Puck drop is at 4pm PT.

Game 3: Comets 3 – Monarchs 2

- This marked just the ninth time in 21 post-season games the Comets have scored three goals or more, and just the third time in the past 11 games.

- With his goal and assist, O’Reilly now has at least one point in seven of his past nine games. The goal was his first of the post-season. He leads the AHL with 17 assists.

- Markstrom has allowed two goals or less in 16 of 21 starts during the playoffs.

- Nicklas Jensen has goals in back-to-back games after being scratched for three.
