2015.16 Highlights
$1 million commitment to build a Canucks-themed playroom at BC Children's Hospital
March 9, 2016, CFKF committed $1 million to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation to support the creation of a Canucks-themed playroom in the new Teck Acute Care Centre (Teck ACC) opening in 2017.
The CFKF shares a longstanding partnership with BC Children's Hospital. It has funded childhood diabetes research, urgently needed equipment, and various mental health initiatives. In addition, it has provided the hospital with substantial in-kind and promotional support. Players, coaches, and staff make regular visits to the hospital, bringing smiles to hundreds of patients and their families.
Canucks for Kids Fund Dice & Ice
For the first time in the event's 16 year history, the CFKF's annual Dice & Ice Benefit, presented by Scotiabank, was held at Rogers Arena.
All Canucks players, coaches, management and Canucks Alumni were joined by 750 guests, who combined to make this a memorable and successful event. The event raised over $351,000 in net proceeds through silent and live auctions featuring a number of unique items, including the opportunity to be a Canuck for a day, travel experiences, sports memorabilia and themed gift baskets created by players and their wives and significant others.
