CanucksTV preseason games attract record audience numbers

by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks and Canucks TV are proud to announce that the audience numbers for their four televised pre-season games set new club records. The four Canucks TV pre-season broadcasts were all seen live on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific.

The average minute audience for all four games was 234,000 which shatters the previous mark of 147,000 recorded in 2007 when Canucks TV broadcasted two pre-season games. Despite only reaching an audience in British Columbia, the Canucks TV broadcasts continually ranked in the top five live sports programs in the country.

Led by the broadcast team of John Shorthouse, John Garrett and Dan Murphy, Canucks fans were able to enjoy four live pre-season games that featured Canucks TV programming and feature stories throughout. This season Canucks fans will enjoy the same announce team for all 45 Rogers Sportsnet Pacific and 12 Canucks TV broadcasts.

Canucks TV pre-season individual game results were as follows:

  • Canucks vs. NY Islanders on Sept 14 – 229,000 Average Minute Audience
    Ranked 3rd in the country
  • Canucks @ Anaheim on Sept 17 – 177,000 Average Minute Audience
    Ranked 3rd in the country
  • Canucks vs. Calgary on Sept 21 – 244,000 Average Minute Audience
    Ranked 4th in the country
