Canucks to support Raise-A-Reader Day

by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Canucks are proud to announce their participation in the 18th annual Vancouver Sun Raise-A-Reader Day on Wednesday, September 24th in support of literacy. Select Canucks players, alumni, team personnel and mascot FIN will join personalities from the BC Lions, Vancouver Whitecaps, Vancouver Giants and Vancouver Canadians, along with hundreds of volunteers stationed on streets throughout Vancouver.

A special Raise-A-Reader edition of The Vancouver Sun will be exchanged for donations throughout the morning with all proceeds allocated to literacy programs throughout British Columbia. As one of the partner beneficiaries, the Canucks for Kids Fund will donate the generous Raise-A-Reader grant directly to the Canucks Family Education Centre to support the many family literacy programs the Centre offers.
