Canucks to sell commemorative "LB charity tee"

by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks
VANCOUVER, B.C., - The Vancouver Canucks are proud to announce that commemorative Luc Bourdon t-shirts (the "LB Charity Tee") will be available at the Canucks Team Store for the Saturday, May 9th game. Net proceeds from the sale of the LB Charity Tee will be donated to the Luc Bourdon Memorial Fund.

"The Vancouver Canucks are extremely proud to be able to lend support to the Luc Bourdon Memorial Fund, continuing Luc's work to help those in need in his community," said Chris Zimmerman, President and CEO, Canucks Sports & Entertainment. "The generosity of fans and the hockey community in supporting Luc's family and friends has been extremely moving this year. Luc was and remains a special part of our team and we are committed to assisting Suzanne (Luc's mother), who has worked tremendously hard to establish this charity in Luc's memory."

The t-shirt has a subtle image of Luc's face in helmet, appearing in the upper right portion of the shirt. Beside Luc is the "LB" logo, worn throughout the 2008-09 season by Vancouver Canucks players and staff in memory of Bourdon, and "Forever a Canuck" is written across the left sleeve. Alex Burrows appears in the front, mimicking the "Bow and Arrow" celebration Bourdon displayed after scoring goals in junior hockey. The item is a dark navy slim fit tee and is available in a men's and women's fit. The LB Charity Tee will be available for purchase as of May 9th at the Canucks Team store only for $34.99. Limited quantities of this special edition tee are available.

The Luc Bourdon Memorial Fund was established recently by Luc's mother Suzanne Boucher to serve to support children in need in the Shippigan area of New Brunswick. Bourdon was a supporter of minor hockey in the area, granting over $10,000 anonymously to the Minor Hockey Association in his first year playing in the NHL. Through the Luc Bourdon NHLPA online auction in 2008-09, over $115,000 has been raised for the Luc Bourdon Memorial Fund.
