Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have signed centre Ryan Shannon.  In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Shannon, 24, split the 2006-07 season between the Anaheim Ducks and Portland Pirates of the AHL.  In 53 games with the Ducks Shannon recorded 11 points (2-9-11) and 10 penalty minutes in addition to scoring nine points (2-7-9) in 14 games for Portland. Shannon made 11 postseason appearances with the 2007 Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks.

The 5'9", 180-pound native of Darien, CT was acquired by the Canucks on June 23, 2007 from Anaheim in exchange for Jason King and a conditional draft pick.  He was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team in 2006 after registering 86 points (27-59-86) through 71 games with the Portland Pirates in 2005-06.
