by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks
VANCOUVER, B.C., — The Vancouver Canucks, in conjunction with the National Hockey League, will release the club’s 2008-09 regular season schedule tomorrow, July 17th. Vancouver opens the regular season at home on Thursday, October 9th versus the Calgary Flames.

During the 2008-09 season Canucks fans can look forward to three home and road series versus each Eastern Canadian team. This will mark the first time since the 2005-06 season that Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto play at General Motors Place.

As part of the NHL’s reformatted schedule Canucks fans will see Vancouver play every team in the League at least once. Vancouver will play six games against each Northwest Division club (24 total) and four games against each of the 10 non-division clubs in the Western Conference (40 total). The Canucks remaining 18 games will be split with nine home and nine away games against the Eastern Conference.

ON THE AIR:
Every Canucks game, including pre-season games, can be heard on the radio on the Team 1040 AM. A complete broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
