Canucks Report - Sunday Oct.5th

by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks

Current Roster

Game Day Skate
With just 26 players remaining on the Canucks roster and the last preseason game today, decisions regarding final cuts will come very shortly.

Not on display for the final game before the regular season are defenceman Lukas Krajicek and Rob Davison. The two were partnered for the last two games and each have appeared in four games.

Ryan Johnson, Matt Pettinger, Rick Rypien, and Cody Hodgson will all sit for Vancouver against the Ducks.

The newest Anaheim Duck, Nathan McIver, is expected to dress tonight at GM Place in a different jersey for the first time in his career.  McIver, 23, was drafted by Vancouver in the 8th round choice, 254th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Roberto Luongo hit the ice this morning with a mask fit for a captain - well at least it's now marked for the captain.

Because of League rules that forbid the "C" on a goalie's jersey, Luongo has the letter on right in the centre of his mask.  While he got around one aspect of captaincy with the letter, he will remain in his crease during the game and his assistant captains will represent the team in any on ice discussions with officials.
