Canucks Report: Got your popcorn ready?

By Derek Jory,

The 2010 Young Stars Tournament begins today in Penticton, BC. A double dose of games are on tap Sunday, including the Vancouver Canucks taking on the Edmonton Oilers. Nothing like starting the tournament out with a true challenge.

There’s a very good chance that a big part of Edmonton’s Young Stars roster, namely Jordan Eberle, Magnus Paajarvi and Taylor Hall, will end up playing a big part in Edmonton’s regular season in 2010-11. Vancouver's Young Stars, including Jordan Schroeder, Kevin Connauton and Evan Oberg, will be in tough to shut down Edmonton's big three, but the Canucks boast some fire power of their own up front and are solid on defence.

The second game of the day pins the San Jose Sharks against the Anaheim Ducks in a battle of Californian foes. Both sides will be competitive throughout the tournament, but they'll need contributions from some fresh faces to rack up a few wins.
