This year’s regular season TV schedule includes 45 Rogers Sportsnet Pacific broadcasts, 25 games on national television and 12 games on Canucks TV Pay-Per-View. Rogers Sportsnet Pacific begins their 2009.10 Canucks broadcast schedule with a 12:00 pm start on Saturday, October 3rd when the Canucks visit Colorado. Once again John Shorthouse will provide the play-by-play, alongside analyst John Garrett and host Dan Murphy. Two of Rogers Sportsnet Pacific’s 45 games, November 5th and February 14th (both at Minnesota) will be seen exclusively on Sportsnet’s sister station in Vancouver, CITY TV.
Canucks fans can enjoy prime time viewing for the vast majority of games with 50 of 82 televised games beginning at 7:00 pm or later. An additional eight games beginning before 7:00 pm fall on weekends.
Vancouver’s broadcast schedule includes a number of marquee match-ups including, once again, the home and road series versus Eastern Canadian teams starting with home dates versus Montreal on Wednesday, October 7th and Toronto on Saturday, October 24th. The broadcast schedule is highlighted by the Washington Capitals visiting Vancouver on Friday, December 18th, the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins visiting General Motors Place on Saturday, January 16th and the Canucks playing all three Eastern Canadian teams on the road between January 30th and February 4th.
In addition to the 70 games on “conventional” TV, the Canucks are pleased to offer fans all remaining games on Canucks TV PPV. The format of Canucks TV allows for in-depth broadcast features and analysis throughout the course of the game. Canucks fans can look forward to a broadcast with, pre and post-game shows, complete game day coverage and no commercials. John Shorthouse and John Garrett will call every game. All Canucks TV PPV games will be available in High Definition. Canucks TV carriers include Shaw Digital Cable, Bell ExpressVu, Shaw Direct, & TELUS TV.
