Canucks Recall Rick Rypien and Re-Assign Luc Bourdon

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that defenceman Luc Bourdon has been re-assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.


Rypien, 23, has played in nine games for the Canucks this season, recording two points (1-1-2) and 20 penalty minutes. He has also played 31 games with Manitoba in 2007-08, registering 14 points (3-11-14) and 72 penalty minutes. The Coleman, Alberta native missed 16 games this season due to a finger injury.

Bourdon, 21, collected two goals with Vancouver this season, including his first NHL marker on November 16, 2007 vs the Minnesota Wild. The Shippagan, New Brunswick native also recorded 14 penalty minutes and finished a plus-eight in 17 games with the Canucks. He returns to the Moose where he has recorded 12 points (6-6-12) and 64 penalty minutes in 34 games played.
