Canucks Recall Defenceman Alexander Edler
by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have recalled defenceman Alexander Edler from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
Edler, 20, has played in 16 games with the Canucks this season recording two points (1-1-2) and six penalty minutes. In 29 games with the Moose this season, the 6'3", 220 lbs. native of Ostersund, Sweden has recorded 17 points (4-13-17) and 14 penalty minutes. Edler was selected by Vancouver 91st overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Edler finished fifth in scoring amongst defencemen in the WHL. In 12 post-season games with Kelowna, he ended up with three goals and five assists for eight points and 12 penalty minutes.
