VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks will hold their 19th annual Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon, presented by Chevrolet, on Sunday, March 15th at General Motors Place with all proceeds to benefit Canuck Place Children's Hospice.

The Telethon airs on the TEAM 1040 Sports Radio from Noon till Midnight, and on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific during the game broadcast versus the Colorado Avalanche from 6:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The Telethon broadcast, hosted by Rogers Sportsnet personalities Don Taylor, Craig MacEwen and Canucks TV reporter Kristin Reid, will feature vignettes of Canuck Place families, Canucks players and special cheque presentations to the Canucks for Kids Fund.

Canucks wives, significant others, sponsor partners, Canucks for Kids Fund directors and volunteers will be taking donations by phone (604-777-CARE or 2273, or #2273 on your TELUS Mobility cellular) on the celebrity panel on March 15th.

Donations will also be accepted at the game, where volunteers will collect contributions during the latter half of the first period in the bowl. Fans can also visit Canucks.com/telethon to donate online.

All Telethon donors who give $100 will receive an exclusive “The Captains” photograph, featuring Roberto Luongo, Mattias Ohlund, Willie Mitchell and Ryan Kesler. For donations of $150 or more, donors will receive both “The Captains” and a commemorative “Tribute to Trevor” photo, capturing images from the night Linden’s number was retired.

All who enter by midnight on March 15th may win a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid (contest details on Canucks.com). The Canucks for Kids fund gratefully acknowledges the support of General Motors of Canada, Rogers Sportsnet, TEAM 1040 and TELUS.

Rogers Sportsnet’s broadcast of the March 15th game and Telethon will also be streamed on-line at Canucks.com. Fans can watch the live broadcast on Canucks.com, beginning at 6:45 p.m.
