The Canucks were back on the ice this morning after a day off yesterday. Everyone gathered for the team photo before resuming business. The team squares off against Calgary for the second time this pre-season hoping to avenge a 3-1 loss Sept. 19th.

Lukas Krajicek was slated to play tonight but woke up feeling under the weather. He won't dress. Kevin Bieksa will take his place on the blueline.

"He's sick, came here this morning and didn't like his breakfast, so I just had him take the team picture and told him to go back to the hotel," said Alain Vigneault.

An injured thumb will keep the feisty Rick Rypien out of the lineup as well.

"His thumb needs to be 100% because he plays a physical game and he drops the mitts, if he can't be 'The Ryp" come Detroit, then we'll have to send him down,"said Vigneault. "He'll be able to play in Manitoba and keep the gloves on and when he's capable of dropping the gloves, then he'll be back up here."

Coach Vigneault plans to try out some new lineups for tonight's game and feels confident with the team's progress. He admits that there is still room for improvement but with two more exhibition games and three practices next week, there's time.
