A pair of prospects are off to the NCAA’s Frozen Four, while Jordan Subban added to his goal total in the week that was for Canucks prospects.


Brock Boeser had a goal and two assists on Friday in Round 1 of the NCAA Tournament, before seeing his 10-game point streak snapped on Saturday in the quarterfinals. Boeser and North Dakota clinched a spot to the NCAA’s Frozen Four, where they will face Denver in the semifinals on April 7.

Thatcher Demko and Boston College are also off to the NCAA’s Frozen Four after a pair of NCAA Tournament wins on the weekend. He stopped 32-of-33 shots fired his way in a win over Harvard on Friday, before stopping 28-of-30 shots on Saturday against Minnesota-Duluth. Demko and Boston College will face off against Quinnipiac in the semifinals on April 7.

Alex Friesen’s finished the week with one goal in three games. It was his 10th goal of the season, matching his career high set last season, doing it this time around in six fewer games.

Alex Grenier appeared in one game with the Canucks, logging 10:07 of ice time against Winnipeg on Tuesday, before being reassigned to the Comets later in the week, where he registered one assist and four shots on goal in two games.

Ronalds Kenins picked up a goal and assist in three games with the Comets last week. His second period marker on Saturday proved to be the game winner in a victory over Binghamton. Kenins now has four points in his last five games.

Carl Neill scored once and setup two others to grab three points in two post-season games last week. Neill and the Phoenix are tied 1-1 in their best-of-seven first round series with the Shawinigan Cataractes, despite finishing the regular season with 36 fewer points. Neill collected 50 points (8-42-50) in 64 games during the regular season, good for fifth among all QMJHL defencemen.

Jordan Subban scored his 11th goal of the season in Friday’s overtime loss to Hershey, while also registering a team-high five shots on goal. Subban sits third in the AHL in points by 1995-born defencemen, and 16th overall among all blue-liners.
