Brock Boeser’s streak hit double digits as Team USA comes calling.


Brock Boeser extended his point streak to 10 games by adding two more goals in two games this past weekend. Boeser is now tied for second among all NCAA players with 13 goals on the season. The 18-year-old’s impressive play has not gone unnoticed as he was one of 16 forwards named to the Team USA World Junior preliminary roster.

Cole Cassels registered one shot on goal in two games this past week. The rookie is still looking for his first career AHL goal and has now gone 13 games without a point.

Thatcher Demko suffered a loss for the first time since October 11, allowing four goals on 39 shots against Notre Dame. Boston College is out of action until December 28 when they face Ohio State in the Florida College Classic opener.

Alex Friesen scored three times in three games this past week, giving him seven goals in his past 11 games. He had a two-goal performance on Sunday, including the shorthanded overtime winner. Friesen is now tied for second on the Comets in goals, four back of injured Hunter Shinkaruk.

Nicklas Jensen had one assist and 10 shots on goal in three games during the week, but did score a beauty goal to seal the shootout win over Rochester on Wednesday. Jensen is averaging 3.70 shots per-game this month, but has only converted one of those into goals.

Ronalds Kenins had one shot on goal in Friday’s loss to the Marlies after being re-assigned by the Canucks on Thursday. Kenins recent stint with the Comets didn’t last long as he was recalled to the Canucks on Saturday.

After going five games without a point, Jordan Subban scored twice on Sunday, including the equalizer with one minute remaining to send the game to overtime. His first goal of the game snapped Marlies goaltender Jonathan Bernier’s shutout streak at 203 minutes and 38 seconds. Subban leads all Comets defencemen in points per-game (0.56), while sitting tied for third among all Comets skaters in the same category.

Linden Vey registered a goal and assist in three games last week. The goal, his second of the season, snapped a 17-game drought. Vey now has three points in his past four outings.
