Vancouver, BC - The Canucks for Kids Fund announced today a donation of $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help assist those affected by the ongoing wild fires throughout British Columbia.

"Our thoughts go out to the thousands of British Columbians impacted by the wild fires throughout the province," said Paolo Aquilini, Canucks for Kids Fund President. "We admire the resolve and courage demonstrated by first responders and have been inspired by the outpouring of support from individuals and companies. We encourage everyone to continue to support wild fire relief as evacuees continue to face the physical and emotional impact of this terrible disaster."
The Canucks will also recognize those affected by the B.C. wild fires at their three home preseason games, as well as the brave firefighters and emergency personnel who battled the fires throughout the summer. More details will be announced at a later date.
The Canadian Red Cross is providing relief for those affected and has created a British Columbia Fires Appeal for Canadians who wish to help those in need. Donations to B.C. Fires Appeal will help provide immediate relief with family reunification and financial assistance for individuals and families to secure food, clothing, and shelter.
Fans wishing to make a donation and provide assistance are encouraged to visit the Red Cross B.C. Fires Appeal Donation page at
