Canucks for Kids Fund auction open

VANCOUVER, B.C., — The Canucks for Kids Fund is proud to announce that it will be opening bidding on an online auction in support of the Dice and Ice Benefit. Dice and Ice is a sold-out event which will feature the entire Vancouver Canucks team in a casino themed night February 5, 2009. Proceeds from the night will benefit Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and BC Children’s Hospital as well as other initiatives supported by the CFKF.

For the second consecutive year, an online auction will be available prior to the event itself. A number of unique items will be available to bid on online beginning January 15, 2009 at 12 p.m. PST through until February 5, 2009 at 12 p.m. PST. Proceeds from the auction will support the Canucks for Kids Fund*. Items can be bid on through the NHL Auction website at

Sweaters worn by current Vancouver Canucks players at Trevor Linden’s December 17th retirement ceremony will be exclusively available at the Dice and Ice live auction February 5, 2009.

Prizing available in the online auction is unique Canucks memorabilia including:

An opportunity to bid on one of 10 commemorative sweaters worn and signed by Canucks alumni. The sweaters feature the “16” patch and were worn by former teammates of Trevor Linden to the December 17, 2008 retirement ceremony.

*All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Canucks for Kids Fund and its beneficiaries. The Canucks for Kids Fund is the Vancouver Canucks charitable arm which dedicates its resources to assist charities who support children’s health and wellness, foster the development of grassroots hockey and facilitate and encourage education in British Columbia.
