"This night is a great opportunity to celebrate not just our fans but the tremendous careers of Henrik and Daniel," said Trevor Linden, Canucks President of Hockey Operations. "This has been a special and emotional week for many and we're grateful to have the opportunity to say thank you."
11 THINGS TO KNOW:
1. The night includes several tributes and vignettes highlighting the remarkable careers of Daniel and Henrik Sedin during their final game in Vancouver.
2. Fans can post their favourite memories of Daniel and Henrik Sedin on their social media accounts using the hashtag #ThankYouSedins. These posts will be shown on the videoboard and on canucks.com/sedins. Fans will want to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. to enjoy an all-new open.
3. A tribute mural wall will be installed on the Toyota Plaza for fans to write thank you messages for Daniel and Henrik Sedin. Fans can start signing the wall at 12:00 pm Thursday.
4. The lights outside Rogers Arena and throughout the City of Vancouver will shine blue and yellow in tribute to the Sedins.
5. A massive 50/50 jackpot will be seeded with unclaimed funds and start at $400,000. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets with cash to expedite the process. Sales close at the end of the 2nd Intermission.
6. Each fan in attendance will receive a #ThankYouSedins commemorative magazine prior to puck drop.
7. The night features the presentation of the 2017.18 player awards throughout the evening, including the Most Valuable Player, Best Defenceman, Most Exciting Player, and Unsung Hero.
8. #ThankYouSedins merchandise will be available for sale at the Canucks Team Store, vanbase.ca and on the Toyota Plaza pre-game.
9. A very limited number of vouchers (first come, first served) will also be distributed for fans to take selfies on the concourse with Brock Boeser, Erik Gudbranson, Sven Baertschi, Kirk McLean and Jyrki Lumme from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. Please note autographs will not be permitted.
10. The game and special 30-minute pre-game show will air nationally on Sportsnet.
11. Happy Half Hour has been extended and will begin when doors open at 5:30pm and run until 6:30pm.
