Over the course of his career, Chaput has played in 126 NHL games and collected 17 points (6-11-17).
Cassels, 22, recorded two assists in three preseason contests this year. In his second season of professional hockey in 2016.17, the 6-0, 182-pound native of Columbus, Ohio recorded 11 points (6-5-11) and 33 penalty minutes for the Comets.
