Canucks Aquire Jimmy Sharrow from Atlanta in Exchange for Jesse Schultz

Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that defenceman Jimmy Sharrow has been acquired from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Jesse Schultz.


Sharrow, 22, was a member of the AHL's Chicago Wolves during the 2006-07 season. The 6'2", 198-pound defenceman played 42 games with Chicago, recording 18 points (4-14-18) and 38 penalty minutes.

The Framingham, Mass. native was named to the QMJHL All-Rookie Team in 2002-03 and was a member of the U.S. National Under-17 Team in 2001-02. Sharrow was originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers 110th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
