Vancouver, B.C. –
The Vancouver Canucks Alumni
, alongside Victoria Minor Hockey Association, announced today that the Canucks Alumni will square off against the coaches and alumni from Victoria Minor Hockey in a game to be played in Esquimalt on Saturday, September 15 at 2:00pm. The game will feature such Canucks legends as Cliff Ronning, Kirk McLean, Garry Valk, Orland Kurtenbach, Doug Bodger and the Islands’ own Greg G. Adams. Tickets are on-sale now through Victoria Minor Hockey Association (250.896.3353 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
“We’re very pleased to be able to bring the Canucks Alumni to the Island to play a game in Esquimalt,” said Canucks Alumnus Orland Kurtenbach. “It’s always great to come out to communities like Esquimalt and see the passion and effort local organizers and fans put forth.”
"We are very excited to host the Canucks Alumni game because it offers great entertainment for the many local Canucks fans, but more importantly it allows Victoria Minor Hockey to continue making inroads in eliminating financial barriers to the youth of our city wishing to play minor hockey through our player bursary program,” said Annalyn Richardson, President, Victoria Minor Hockey Association. “We are very grateful to the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey, the Canucks Alumni and the Vancouver Canucks hockey club for this great opportunity."
Proceeds from the Alumni game will be primarily donated to the player bursary program within Victoria Minor Hockey, to offset the cost for those that could otherwise not play due to financial contraints. Partial proceeds will be donated to KidSport. For ticket inquiries, please contact Annalyn Richardson with Victoria Minor Hockey at 250.896.3353 or email@example.com.What:
